Jan. ‘96 – Dec. ‘97, Paris:   IBM Europe - European Sales Executive, Global Business Intelligence Solutions.

Aug. ‘94 - Dec. ‘95, Paris:   European Director of sales and marketing of the Education Industry segments including secondary and higher education as well as academic research institutions. Responsible for national teams based in Germany, Italy, France, UK, Spain and South Africa. Pioneered the introduction of emerging technologies (Multimedia, Internet) in the European academic and school environment. Board member of the IBM Europe Internet Committee.

Feb.’92 - Jul.’94, Rome / Paris:   Sales & Market Development Director of the Scientific, Technical and Education Industries European Business Unit (based in Rome until July ‘93, then in Paris).

June ‘90 - Jan.‘92, Rome:   Director of the European Center for Scientific and Engineering Computing, the IBM EMEA supercomputing center. Managed a staff of 40 senior specialists performing advanced research and joint projects with research customers. Initiated and managed a student internship program.

Jan.‘88 - June ’90, Rome:   Director of the European Academic Supercomputing Initiative (EASI) whose mission was to establish centers of excellence in supercomputing, in partnership with major scientific institutions. These centers where all networked and connected to the US-NSFnet by a high-speed link via the Cornell University. EASInet became the first large scale European implementation of the Internet.

Jan.‘84 - Dec.’87, London:   Manager of Operations of the Academic Information Systems business unit (ACIS), with European responsibility for market development and sales. ACIS succeeded in winning back the academic and public research market.

Jan.’82 - Dec.’83, Naples: Marketing Manager of the Large Account Unit in the Naples Branch Office. In charge of 5 sales representatives and responsible for some of the key local accounts: Aerospace Industry, University of Naples, Salerno and Calabria; Shipping Company; local banks and local government.

Jan. - Dec. ’81, Rome:  Account Manager for a major Italian Government Institution, among the largest  accounts in Italy. Led a team in implementing a distributed computing environment across the hundred branch offices of the organization.

Jan.‘74 - Dec.’80, Naples: Senior Sales representative.

Aug.‘71 - Dec.’73, Bari (Italy): Sales Representative.

Awards:

  • 9 qualifications to the «Hundred Percent Club», for the achievement of all sales objectives;

  • 2 qualifications to the «Golden Circle», reserved to the first 40 sales reps in EMEA who overachieved their sales objectives;
